Summary: | This value represents global energy consumption derived from wind power. This is presented in 'input-equivalent' units, meaning the energy that would have been required to produce a given amount of power if the input were a fossil fuel. This is calculated by multiplying the power produced by a conversion factor representative of the efficiency of power production by fossil fuels. BP states that in 2017, this factor was about 40%. Value comes from the U.S. Energy Information Agency.
Method: | The EIA collects data from individual countries. They do not provide an assessment of the uncertainty.
