HuID: | 85142 | |
Relevant Year(s): | 2021
Summary: | This value is an estimate of total global oceanic biomass of zooplankton, including nano-, micro-, meso-, and macrozooplankton. Sample measurements along with satellite data were used to estimate this value.
Method: | Total zooplankton biomass was estimated from sample measurements as well as modeled conversions between chlorophyll and zooplankton, and accounting for environmental variables. The uncertainty reported is a 95% confidence interval derived from the geometric mean of: 1) the standard error of the mean from 1000 bootstrap samples, 2) the confidence intervals from the sampling measurements.
