Flora & FaunaAgriculture

This quantity comes from a time series measurement and the most recent value (2018) is reported.

Value: 4.5 g / capita / day
HuID: 43014
Relevant Year(s): 2018
Summary: Global average daily protein supply from pig meat per capita. This represents the average amount of protein from pig meat available for human consumption and does not necessarily represent how much is consumed or how much is available in a given country/region.
Method: The FAO collects data from countries on production of swine. The amount available for human consumption is calculated after accounting for other uses and losses. Protein content is calculated from the average protein content of pig meat. The FAO does not provide an assessment of uncertainty and this value should be considered approximate.
